NFPA’s Fast Track Hub Macomb Community College (MCC) unveiled its newly renovated Skilled Trades and Advanced Technology Center in August of this year. NFPA members are invited to join NFPA and MCC staff to tour the facility on December 6th from 12-2PM Eastern Time at an in-person MI Workforce Engagement Group meeting.
This is an opportunity for you to learn about opportunities to engage in workforce development initiatives with MCC, as well as tour their new Skilled Trades & Advanced Technology Center and the AutoSTEAM Days event. Lunch will be provided. Learn more about the agenda and register to attend here.
As published on MCC’s website, The $45 million renovation to the 130,000 square-foot facility on Warren’s South Campus is the largest in the college’s history. The updated facility will support education in manufacturing, technology and the skilled trades and ensures MCC will be able to supply talent to local industry. The fluid power technology program is housed within the newly renovated building.
According to Macomb County Executive, Mark Hackel, “Macomb Community College is a leader in higher education and workforce development. This facility is a prime example of the college’s ability to develop facilities and programs that help students to thrive and support ever-changing needs of industry.”
MCC’s Skilled Trades and Advanced Technology Center optimizes the environmental infrastructure for teaching and learning that embodies the current impact of industry 4.0 as well as the flexibility to readily adapt to the ongoing convergence of the physical and digital worlds. Their goal is to develop a robust talent pipeline for industry and to prepare students who are immediately ready to contribute when they enter the workforce.
