Earlier in October, the NFPA Board of Directors met over a series of virtual meetings to review progress on NFPA’s strategic objectives so far this fiscal year. This series of meetings included a targeted session for the Promote Fluid Power Task Force, a group that focuses on improving the programs that support NFPA’s objective to provide “opportunities and resources for its members to promote the unique strengths and inherent advantages offered by modern fluid power technology.”
This year’s priorities in this area include:
- To work with AEM to better align the NFPA and IFPE marketing strategies.
- To develop a series of “innovative fluid power” education programs for placement at customer market trade shows and cross-promotion through podcasts and Quarterly Conferences.
- To continue to grow the Fluid Power Forum podcast audience, particularly among OEMs and allied technology partners.
Progress to date includes more regular communications with AEM to coordinate exhibitor promotions as well as explore and implement cross-promotion opportunities between IFPE and podcast as the marketing starts to attract show attendees. Two fluid power-focused presentations have been placed to date in the 2021 World Ag Expo and Utility Expo on-demand education offering, and proposals are in the works for the 2022 OTC, PACK Expo, and World Ag Expo. For the trade show education and podcast content, staff is working to build a balanced pipeline to cover all areas of fluid power’s unique strengths, and further efforts are being made to better engage members in sharing the podcast.
What this means for you
These priorities will help ensure fluid power technologies are visible to target customer markets, both through trade show opportunities as well as through shareable digital content.
You can get involved and reap the benefits in this area in a number of ways in the next few months:
- Check Out and Share the Fluid Power Forum Podcast
Fluid Power Forum is the fluid power industry-focused podcast that highlights the people, technologies and unique applications moving hydraulic and pneumatic technologies forward. With episodes released every other Monday, Fluid Power Forum showcases the new components, new systems, and new applications that are changing how fluid power is used. The podcast is available on all your favorite podcast platforms – including iHeart Radio, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, and Spotify. Subscribe to never miss an episode and be sure to share with your OEM and allied technology partner contacts to help spread the word about the industry. - Download and Share the Industry Brief
Another shareable fluid power-focused promotional tool is the new Industry Brief. With information about the impact of the industry as well as information about where it’s headed, it’s a great source of information on the industry to keep you informed as well as inform customers and end users. Download and share the Industry Brief here. - Get Involved in IFPE 2023
Space sales are open. Even though the priority window is now closed, there is still time to claim your exhibit space for IFPE 2023, taking place in Las Vegas March 14 – 18, 2023. Those interested can also take their presence a step further by submitting an education session proposal before the December 31, 2021 deadline.
