Mechanical Engineering Recruitment Event with Northern Illinois University

Mechanical Engineering Recruitment Event
March 6, 2023 | 10:00am– 2:00pm (Central Time)
Rock Valley College, Northern Illinois University

As our first engagement opportunity with our latest Power Partner University, the NFPA would like to invite you to join the Mechanical Engineering Recruitment event at Northern Illinois University at Rock Valley College. This event will take place on Monday, March 6th from 10AM-2PM.

The event will begin with a career fair as a recruitment opportunity for you and your company. Following this, students and industry members are welcomed to join us for a presentation from NFPA’s president and CEO, Eric Lanke, to get an economic snapshot of the industry and the impacts of electrification, NFPA workforce development programs, career opportunities, and more. Finally, we will wrap up this event with a networking luncheon that will be provided for industry representatives and NIU/RVC students.

In Rockford, Illinois, Northern Illinois University (NIU) is partnering with Rock Valley College (RVC) to offer NIU Engineering at RVC, a program designed to train local students in mechanical engineering. Students take the first two years of courses from RVC faculty. Third and fourth-year courses are taught by NIU faculty on the RVC campus, and students earn an NIU Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. This event allows you and your company to have visibility with our newest Power Partner and view the strengths in NIU’s program and facilities, all the while utilizing this event for recruitment.

If you are interested in joining this event, please complete the brief registration form linked here. There is limited space available to 12 companies and is first come, first served. Further details will be sent to your email once registration is completed. If you have any questions, please contact Kyla Olson at kolson@nfpa.com.
