At a Meet the Students/Industry Connection Event on September 29, Purdue University students enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering degree programs met with nine NFPA member companies in a speed networking event. Held virtually on the Remo platform, students visited each company’s table where industry representatives talked about the fluid power industry, what their company does and what they like most about their jobs. In addition, students could share their interests and learn about opportunities for internships and jobs.

Purdue University has a long history of teaching fluid power and was NFPA’s first Power Partner University. To be a Power Partner University, a school must meet the following criteria:
- Host a Meet the Students/Industry Connection Event
- Participate in the Speaker’s Bureau program
- Participate in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge
- Have a Fluid Power Club
- Teach the nine core fluid power competencies
