On September 22, NFPA and the Milwaukee School of Engineering hosted a Meet the Students/Industry Connection Event. Students enrolled in MSOE’s Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering degree programs were invited to meet with ten NFPA member companies in a speed networking event. Industry representatives talked about their backgrounds, what their company does and the markets they serve, fluid power technology, and opportunities for internships and jobs. It was a great event for students and industry to make direct connections to each other.

MSOE has been a loyal education partner and member of the fluid power community for some time. In recognition of its efforts to promote fluid power education, it has been named NFPA’s second Power Partner University.
MSOE has met all the criteria for the Power Partner program, including:
- Host a Meet the Students/Industry Connection Event
- Participate in the Speaker’s Bureau program
- Participate in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge
- Has a Fluid Power Club
- Teaches the nine core fluid power competencies
