In response to COVID-19 challenges that schools across the country are facing, NFPA has been working to source more virtual fluid power educational resources. NFPA’s educator partner network has expressed interest in showing students videos from NFPA member companies that have real life examples of various fluid power technologies in use.
To kick things off, NFPA’s CEO/President Eric Lanke created a video presentation on the U.S. Fluid Power Industry. The presentation includes an overview of the association, including its mission and ends statement, an economic snapshot of the industry, NFPA workforce development programs and career opportunities. This video can be useful for those who are interested in better understanding how the fluid power industry works and the many opportunities to find a lifelong career.
NFPA is still seeking member-submitted videos that will be placed on NFPA’s educator resource page where all educators can access them for classroom use. This is a great opportunity for NFPA member companies to get their products and thought leadership in front of the emerging engineering talent pool. This can also help students become familiar with how specific products work while also creating brand awareness for when they’re looking for jobs or making purchasing decisions once they’re in the workforce.
Below are the video topics we are looking for:
# | Topic Area | Video Footage Focus | NFPA Member Type |
1 | Hydraulic Hose | Description of hose construction and manufacturing | Hose Manufacturer |
2 | Hydraulic Hose | Hose selection including different types of hoses and STAMPED process | Hose Manufacturer or OEM |
3 | Hydraulic fittings | Description of the hydraulic fitting selection process and the trade-offs for different fittings are considered when making a choice of a hydraulic fitting | Fitting distributor or OEM |
