In August 2022, NFPA launched a new Stats Dashboard that helps members easily track the latest fluid power industry data. As an NFPA member, you can access the Stats Dashboard right now on the NFPA member hub (click here to access). Here’s what you should know:
What data can I find in the Stats Dashboard?
The Stats Dashboard highlights data from NFPA’s various market reports. Data in the dashboard is linked back to the report it was pulled from. This makes it easy for members to dig deeper into any information they find interesting or useful. Types of data include: | |
– Fluid power shipment trends – End use market shipment trends – Producer price indexes | – Industry and country forecasts – US imports and exports of fluid power products – Various survey result highlights |
How often is the Stats Dashboard updated?
The dashboard is updated monthly as new data becomes available. The dashboard is a great page to bookmark for quick and easy updates on the latest fluid power trends.
Recent Insights:
NFPA produces indexes every month tracking shipments of US production for fluid power manufacturers. Here are some insights from the latest release:
- Fluid power shipments from September 2023 to August 2024 were down -7.43 %, when compared to shipments from September 2022 to August 2023.
- Mobile hydraulic shipments in August 2024 were down -20.7% compared to August 2023.
- When looking at a 12-month moving average, total fluid power shipments declined throughout 2024 as of August 2024.
A new calculation has been added to the Stats Dashboard home page: Year to Date calculation.
The Year to Date (YTD) on the Stats Dashboard is defined as the average index from January through the current month compared to the same time period one year ago. The YTD calculation using May 2023 as the example month: [AVERAGE (Jan23:May23) – AVERAGE (Jan22:May22) / AVERAGE (Jan22:May22)] * 100. The YTD is useful for smoothing out volatility and analyzing trends over time.
