Suppliers – companies that provide products or services to companies that manufacturer fluid power components – are a critical member type in the effective supply chain forum that NFPA represents. In order to help ensure that these members have a voice in NFPA strategy and governance, a Supplier Leadership Council meets twice a year to review NFPA programs and make recommendations for improvements that benefit supplier members.
The current Leadership Council is comprised of:
- Roscoe Wallace, Kaiser Aluminum (Chair)
- Jeff Behling, Stauff Corporation (Vice Chair)
- Mike Brezonick, Diesel Progress
- Beth Figliulo, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions
- Arlin Perry, Comer Industries
At their most recent meeting at the NFPA Annual Conference in Miami, they reviewed a prototype supplier member newsletter that NFPA has started sending with news and updates of particular interest to supplier members. Past issues have featured lists of new supplier members joining the NFPA, announcements of upcoming events, and information on the many market information services that are available to supplier members.
Council members agreed the newsletter would serve as a useful tool for engaging more supplier members in NFPA activities, and suggested that future issues include information on available sponsorships, information on upcoming regional conferences, and opportunities for supplier members to speak at the regional conferences and/or on the NFPA podcast. In doing so, Council members recognized that these are all ways for supplier members to increase their visibility among the rest of the NFPA membership, most of which represent customers or potential customers for them.
All supplier members should watch their email inboxes for future issues, which will now be delivered quarterly.
The Supplier Leadership Council is available for your thoughts and ideas on how to further improve NFPA’s value proposition for supplier members. The best way to submit your comments is through their staff liaison, Erica Halmstad, NFPA Membership Manager, at ehalmstad@nfpa.com.
