Since last July, has your company brought on someone in a full-time, co-op or internship position who attended an NFPA Fast Track College or a Power Partner University? Your answer will help us understand more about students entering the fluid power industry within NFPA’s Workforce Programs.
The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) manages two workforce development pathway programs. First, the Fast Track program, partners local technical colleges with industry professionals and high school teachers. These networks create awareness of and interest in fluid power and introduce students to a path that leads to careers in fluid power at NFPA member companies. Second, the Power Partner program, increases the amount of fluid power being taught in relevant university degree programs and enhances student-to-industry connections.
These programs exist at:
Fast Track Colleges
- Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, WI
- Triton College in River Grove, IL
- Macomb Community College in Warren, MI
- Houston Community College in Houston, TX
- Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, OH
Power Partner Universities
- Cleveland State University in Cleveland, OH
- Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, WI
- Iowa State University in Ames, IA
- Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL
- Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN
- Murray State University in Murray, KY
- North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC
How Can You and Your Company Get Involved?
One way to plug into these programs is to join one of NFPA’s Regional Workforce Engagement Groups. We currently have WI, IL, , MI, TX, OH and for Universities that engages Power Partner faculty. These groups serve as a forum to discuss activities and opportunities that connect NFPA members with our Fast Track Hub Colleges and Power Partner Universities. It allows participating members increased visibility to those educational institutions and recruitment opportunities to more successfully interact with students interested in fluid power.
Additionally, another way to get your company’s name in front of potential hires is by adding your company profile to the NFPA Foundation website. We direct students in all our programs to this site to learn more about our member companies.
NFPA gathers student resumes from our partner schools and distributes them to our member companies each month. This program is exclusive to members of our Pascal Society. If your company is a Pascal member and you would like to receive these resumes, please provide the name and email address of the designated contact person at your company to us at workforce@nfpa.com. If you are not yet a Pascal member, you can find information on how to join here.
Please reach out to us with questions. Thank you for your time, our team appreciates it!
