Murray State University’s fluid power curriculum encompasses both theoretical instruction and hands-on learning. According to one Murray State alumnus and current fluid power professional who is active in NFPA programs, the hands-on approach is critical. His advice to college students is simple, “do your homework, pay attention in class, and go to career fairs and tell companies why they should hire you.” Great advice and a good reason for companies to attend this career fair!

NFPA has a strong relationship with Murray State, both because they compete in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge and through their Fluid Power Club. We have also worked with one of their Electro-mechanical professors to create fluid power curriculum that can be shared with other universities.

Additionally, Murray State’s Career Services department will be hosting an exclusive webinar for NFPA members on August 9, 2022, at 1 PM CDT to offer tips on how to recruit students at the upcoming career fair successfully and how to best stay engaged.

Register for the webinar here

Students enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electromechanical Engineering Technology (Automation and Controls Engineering), Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and Ag Technology programs will be invited to attend and to look for NFPA members at the career fair.
