NFPA Scholarship Winners Seeking Employment and Internships in the Fluid Power Industry 

Through the support of generous donations to the NFPA Education and Technology Foundation, and volunteer NFPA member judges, the NFPA Education and Technology Foundation awarded 26 students $86,000 in scholarships to further their fluid power education for the 2023-24 academic year.

The awardees include 23 students from the Fluid Power Scholarship applicant pool and 3 students from the Robotics Challenge Scholarship applicant pool. Many of these scholarship recipients are seeking internships and full-time jobs in the fluid power industry.

Robotics Challenge Scholarship Winners:

  • Jacob Barnes (2018) is a recent graduate from Cal Poly where he studied Electrical Engineering. He is looking for a position that works with electrical and/or electronic devices to expand on his academic and work experiences. Jacob is seeking full-time employment opportunities!
  • Colton Seitz (2022) just finished up his third semester at the University of Alabama where he is studying Mechanical Engineering. He is excited to learn more about the design of parts and systems. Colton is seeking summer internship opportunities! 
  • Megan Tian (2023) just finished up her first semester at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where she is studying Computer Science. She is excited to learn more about robotics, data science, machine learning, and software engineering. Megan is seeking summer internship opportunities!

Fluid Power Scholarship Winners:

  • Athena Shier (2023) is a student at the University of South Carolina where she is studying Mechanical Engineering. Athena is seeking summer internship or co-op opportunities!
  • Giovanni Hernandez (2023) is a student at the University of California, Irvine where he is studying Aerospace Engineering. Giovanni is seeking summer internship opportunities!
  • Olivia DeBoer (2023) is a student at Harvey Mudd College where she is studying Engineering. Olivia is seeking summer internship opportunities in Washington state!
  • Gabriel Schroepfer (2023) is a student at Northern Illinois University where he is studying Mechanical Engineering. Gabriel is seeking full-time employment opportunities near Rockford, IL!
