The 2023-24 academic year was full of fluid power education, activities, and events that helped 46 schools introduce students to our industry. For many schools, fluid power education would have been out of reach without the help of NFPA’s Action Challenge Grant.
The grant is funded by member contributions and the two NFPA Education and Technology Foundation Golf Fundraisers. The program offers schools a pathway to funding up to $500 that must be used for fluid power education, like the purchase of hands-on build kits, pneumatic components for robotics teams, and transportation to a Fluid Power Action Challenge event or company tour.
This academic year, NFPA awarded over $20,000 in Action Challenge Grants to schools who helped more than 1,700 middle and high school students learn about fluid power. We thank our member community for funding the grant, and the many industry representatives who went beyond by speaking to students about fluid power, hosting a Fluid Power Action Challenge, volunteering at events, and hosting facility tours for schools. The NFPA is grateful for your contributions, time, and support.
To learn more about our Action Challenge Grant, or to get involved with programs that connect your company with students, please contact James Foster at jfoster@nfpa.com. We also hope to see you at the Foundation Golf Fundraiser at the IEOC on August 12, 2024!
