NFPA and Iowa State University Host Power Partner Event

Programs like the Power Partner University Program are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors. Support these efforts by making a donation.

More than 70 students joined NFPA members for a Fluid Power Industry Connection Event at Iowa State University on October 21. NFPA members hosted breakout sessions for students to talk with industry members in small groups. Industry representatives shared information on their backgrounds, what their company does and the markets they serve, company culture, fluid power technology, and opportunities for internships and jobs. Students majoring in Industrial Technology, Agricultural Systems Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering were invited to the event.

Thank you to each company that participated:

  • Husco
  • HydraForce
  • Iowa Fluid Power
  • SunSource
  • ZF Off-Highway Solutions Minnesota Inc.

A special thank you to Drs. Brian Steward and Saxon Ryan and other members of ISU’s faculty and staff for helping make this event a great success.

In recognition of its strong ties to the fluid power community and its efforts to promote fluid power education, Iowa State University is NFPA’s third Power Partner University.

ISU has met all the criteria for the Power Partner program, including:

NFPA will work with other University Partners to coordinate future Meet the Student/Industry Connection events. If you are interested in participating in future events, please reach out to Mary Pluta at mpluta@nfpa.com.
