Join Us for a Recruitment Event at NFPA’s Newest Power Partner University: North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT), located in Greensboro, NC, has been recognized as NFPA’s latest Power Partner University. The Power Partner Program showcases universities that actively participate in all NFPA fluid power educational programs and provides targeted fluid power courses.

NFPA would like to invite you to take part in NCAT’s signature Lobby Day Recruitment Event on October 4th and 5th. HR representatives and engineers are both encouraged to attend this two-part event that will include a career fair recruitment opportunity along with classroom presentations. Additionally, on the evening of Wednesday, October 4th, NFPA member companies are invited to join us for a networking reception with NCAT students and faculty. The Lobby Day Recruitment event is limited to 12 NFPA member companies (6 on Wednesday & 6 on Thursday) and is on a first come, first served basis.

Wednesday, October 4th:

  • 9:00 – 3:00pm EDT: Engineers will give their brief presentations to students in classrooms before rejoining the HR Representatives at their table in the lobby of the engineering hall.
  • 12:00 – 1:00pm EDT: Lunch + Fluid Power Focused Tech Talk.
  • 6:00 – 7:30pm EDT: Networking Reception. Open to all 12 NFPA member companies in attendance.

Thursday, October 5th:

  • 9:00 – 3:00pm EDT: Engineers will give their brief presentations to students in classrooms before rejoining the HR Representatives at their table in the lobby of the engineering hall.
  • 12:00 – 1:00pm EDT: Lunch + Fluid Power Focused Tech Talk.

The Fluid Power Focused Tech Talk will focus on applications, innovations, and technical aspects of the fluid power industry. More information will be shared once registrants are confirmed. NCAT specializes in their Mechanical, Electrical, and Aerospace Engineering degree programs and they are actively developing a fluid power concentration to better ensure their student populations have access to fluid power-specific education. We are excited to begin building connections with NCAT and NFPA member companies.

To learn more and reserve your company’s participation in this event, please complete the brief registration linked here. For any questions, email Kyla Olson at kolson@nfpa.com.

As NCAT begins to develop their fluid power concentration, the university also aims to secure ten internships and two co-ops in the fluid power industry for their students. These should be a minimum of 10 weeks, but no more than 12 weeks, and they should involve meaningful work experiences that allow the students to gain guidance, support, and career advice to help foster personal and professional development.
