In Memoriam:  John Berninger

The National Fluid Power Association is saddened to share that John Berninger, retired Parker Hannifin, and longtime NFPA ISO/TC 131 chairman, has passed away. 

“John’s impact on the fluid power industry and his engineering contributions to pneumatic and hydraulic ISO Standards are legendary,” said Eric Lanke, president and CEO of the National Fluid Power Association. 

“As the ISO/TC 131 chairman for many years, John was an instrumental and widely recognized leader in gathering global support for developing Standards that recognize the need to adopt and audit best practice incentives around energy-efficient fluid power systems.”

NFPA joins John’s family, friends, and colleagues globally who are mourning the loss of his passing. Berninger’s Funeral Mass will be held June 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rowlett, TX.
