Programs like the Fluid Power Action Challenge are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors. Support these efforts by making a donation.
In an effort to increase the number of middle schools the Fluid Power Action Challenge can be offered to, NFPA worked with University of Florida Innovation Station (UF) and Mechanical Kits, LTD. last spring to facilitate a pilot program that resulted in a fluid power competition at Florida Technology Student Association (FL. TSA) State Conference in March. The pilot was successful, and the FL. TSA Board approved the Action Challenge as an annual competitive event offering.
In October, Mechanical Kits LTD. hosted an outreach event at the FL. TSA Leadership Conference, a gathering where FL. TSA Club teachers register for workshops and bring students with them who demonstrate leadership potential. This year, five teachers signed up to see what the Action Challenge is, how it works, and what to expect. Thirty-four students participated in the hands-on fluid power activity.
