Recruiting and Networking

The following events are targeted, fluid power recruitment and networking events that are conducted virtually or on school campuses, exclusively for NFPA members.

Upcoming Workforce Events

Industry Connection Events bring NFPA members to college campuses that are involved with our Power Partner program. These events allow you to showcase your company, highlight internships and job opportunities and network with students that are learning fluid power or interested in pursuing it as a career path. Students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Agricultural Engineering, and more are invited to attend.

Join Us for our Reverse Career Fair at Murray State University

Our Power Partner, Murray State University (Murray, KY) is welcoming NFPA member companies back to campus for our third Reverse Career Fair event on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 from 9:30 – 1:00pm.

At this event, students involved in senior design, research, and general projects will display their work to industry members so that they can receive valuable feedback on their progress. This is an opportunity for you and your company to have visibility with our Power Partner University, view the strengths in Murray State’s engineering programs and facilities, and to utilize this event as a recruitment opportunity. If you are interested in taking part in this event, please register by Monday, November 11th.

The NFPA Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge strives to promote original thinking in a competitive setting by combining two technology platforms that are not normally associated with one another—human-powered vehicles and fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics). The first, as exemplified by the bicycle, is recognized as extremely efficient in terms of input vs output. The second presents more of a challenge in terms of efficiency, especially at low speeds. A fluid-powered vehicle, then, presents engineers with a familiar yet challenging platform for change. By combining this unlikely pair, the Vehicle Challenge hopes to create an environment that results in uncommon connections and breakthroughs while supporting learning and the growth of fluid power industry knowledge.

Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge Networking Mixer

A virtual networking mixer is planned for Friday, November 1st at 1 PM CDT. We encourage mentors, sponsors, judges, and HR professionals to attend this event to engage with students participating in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge and Fluid Power Clubs.

This networking opportunity will enable HR representatives to interact with small groups of students, providing an ideal platform to share information about their companies and current job openings. The mixer will be conducted via Zoom.

Friday, November 1, 2024 | 1:00 PM CT | Virtual Delivery

For further details and to register for the Networking Mixer please contact Mary Pluta at mpluta@nfpa.com.

Workforce Engagement Group sessions serve as a forum to discuss activities and opportunities designed to connect NFPA members with the Fast Track to Fluid Power and Power Partner programs. Both programs create awareness and attention to fluid power education at 2- year and 4- year institutions and gives participating members increased visibility to emerging talent in their region and provides recruitment opportunities to more successfully interact with students interested in careers in our industry.
