Recruiting and Networking

The following events are targeted, fluid power recruitment and networking events that are conducted virtually or on school campuses, exclusively for NFPA members.

Upcoming Workforce Events

Industry Connection Events bring NFPA members to college campuses that are involved with our Power Partner program. These events allow you to showcase your company, highlight internships and job opportunities and network with students that are learning fluid power or interested in pursuing it as a career path. Students majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Agricultural Engineering, and more are invited to attend.

Recruit NIU Engineering Students – Join Us for a Networking Event!

NFPA invites you to a special recruitment event on February 10th in partnership with Northern Illinois University (NIU), a valued Power Partner University. NIU offers fluid power education through dedicated courses and actively participates in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge and the Fluid Power Club program.

The event will begin with a career fair where NFPA member companies can connect with engineering students from NIU. Following the career fair, we will host a luncheon and series of presentations from NIU faculty and NFPA. We will wrap up our event with a roundtable discussion where representatives from each NFPA member company in attendance can collaborate to answer student questions about fluid power and industry trends.

The NFPA Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge strives to promote original thinking in a competitive setting by combining two technology platforms that are not normally associated with one another—human-powered vehicles and fluid power (hydraulics and pneumatics). The first, as exemplified by the bicycle, is recognized as extremely efficient in terms of input vs output. The second presents more of a challenge in terms of efficiency, especially at low speeds. A fluid-powered vehicle, then, presents engineers with a familiar yet challenging platform for change. By combining this unlikely pair, the Vehicle Challenge hopes to create an environment that results in uncommon connections and breakthroughs while supporting learning and the growth of fluid power industry knowledge.

Workforce Engagement Group sessions serve as a forum to discuss activities and opportunities designed to connect NFPA members with the Fast Track to Fluid Power and Power Partner programs. Both programs create awareness and attention to fluid power education at 2- year and 4- year institutions and gives participating members increased visibility to emerging talent in their region and provides recruitment opportunities to more successfully interact with students interested in careers in our industry.
