Connect with Talented Students at the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge Networking Mixer on November 3rd

The 2023 NFPA Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge is underway! At least twenty-two teams are competing this year, including newcomers Minnesota State University Mankato and SUNY Polytechnic. More than 100 students and advisors attended the Kick-Off webinar and many students have already begun working on their vehicles.

A virtual networking mixer is planned for Friday, November 3rd, at 1 PM CDT. We invite mentors, sponsors, judges, and HR professionals to attend this event and get to know students from the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge and Fluid Power Clubs. This event will allow HR representatives to connect with small groups of students to share information about their companies and any openings they have. The Networking Mixer will be held over Zoom.

Students participating in the Vehicle Challenge gain knowledge and hands-on experience with fluid power components, circuits, and systems and their use in controlling force and motion. Participating Pascal Society Donors will receive heightened visibility through this virtual delivery and will have exclusive access to the students’ resumes before the event. This is an excellent opportunity for NFPA members to discuss career opportunities with emerging engineers early in the school year. Many of these talented students have jobs lined up before the school year ends, so now is the time to recruit them!

Students in attendance are from the universities listed below.
Cal Poly State University
Cleveland State University
Iowa State University
Kennesaw State University
Michigan Technological University
Milwaukee School of Engineering
Minnesota State University Mankato
Murray State University
North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University
Northern Illinois University

State University of New York Polytechnic Institute
South Dakota State University
Tennessee State University
Texas A&M University
University of Akron
University of Alabama at Birmingham
University of Cincinnati
University of Louisiana at Lafayette
University of Utah

We are also looking for industry members to serve as judges for this year’s competition. The Design and Specification Midway Reviews are set to take place in December and January and offer a great opportunity for industry members to get involved and connect with students. The Midway Reviews are held virtually.

Contact Mary Pluta at mpluta@npfa.com for more information, to register for the Networking Mixer, or to become a judge.

Participating in the Vehicle Challenge Program is an opportunity reserved for donors to the Pascal Society. Find out if your company is already a donor here. Interested NFPA members who are not donors are welcome to participate once to see how the program works and the advantages associated with being involved.
