Programs like the Fluid Power Action Challenge are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors.
Caterpillar (CAT) is sponsoring its fifth annual and largest-yet Action Challenge event this year, hosted by Joliet Junior College (JJC). Twenty-five teams from ten schools are participating. The students attended Workshop Day on Friday, September 20, where engineers from CAT taught them about fluid power and the project they would be working on.
Teams now have four weeks to prepare for the competition and design their projects before they return on Friday, November 15, for Challenge Day, where they will rebuild their designs and compete against other teams.
Participating schools include: Aux Sable, Minooka Junior High School, St. Jude School New Lenox, Saratoga Middle School, Coal City Middle School, Richard Ira Jones, Seneca Middle School, Wilmington, Immaculate Conception School, Manhattan Jr High.
Thank you to CAT, JJC, participating schools, as well as the competing students for an excellent event!
