Fast Track To Fluid Power: Waukesha County Technical College
Through its partnership with Waukesha County Community College (WCTC), the NFPA is committed to creating a pathway to fluid power. NFPA’s Fast Track to Fluid Power is one of NFPA’s flagship workforce development initiatives. The program aims to foster a productive partnership between technical colleges, NFPA’s industry partners, and parents and students in local middle and high schools. The first fast-track hub in the Midwest region, WCTC offers two-year fluid power degrees: Automation Systems Technology and Industrial Maintenance Technician.

Teams of students get the opportunity to build fluid power mechanical kits using balsawood and syringes. By using the How It Works website, NFPA hopes to encourage educators and event planners to set up Fluid Power Action Challenges within their communities.
