Action Challenge Champions Update

The Fluid Power Action Challenge is a design and build competition where students learn about hydraulic and pneumatic technologies, their real-world applications, engineering challenges, and fluid power careers. Here are the latest milestones in this nationwide, industry-driven educational program.

During the fall semester, Deltrol Fluid Products hosted its 10th annual Fluid Power Action Challenge! It was held at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois. This year, QCC helped sponsor and judge the event where 21 teams of students competed to see how many objects each team’s fluid power mechanism could pick up from one platform, rotate, and place on another platform in a two-minute period. In addition to the event at Triton College, Deltrol Fluid Products supported and judged the third annual Action Challenge at Jerling Junior high school. The entire 8th grade class split up into 45 teams, totaling over 200 student participants. Click here to see a video of the winning device.

Lone Star College-Cypress Center hosted its first annual Action Challenge with the support of Womack Machine Supply Company in Houston, Texas.

The Milwaukee School of Engineering welcomed almost 150 student competitors in its 11th annual Action Challenge, while Williams Fay-West-Greene hosted 29 teams across three different school districts.

Daman Products Inc. celebrated its 9th annual Action Challenge and hosted 120 local middle school students at the University of Notre Dame.

Congratulations to Deltrol Fluid Products and Lone Star Community College for reaching new Challenge Champion Milestones! Many thanks to our members and education partners for continuing to support the Action Challenge and for providing students with the exciting opportunity to learn about fluid power outside of their textbooks in a fun, competitive environment that encourages teamwork and problem-solving skills.
