Purdue Fluid Power Club Enhances Hydraulic Education

Programs like the Power Partner University Program and Fluid Power Clubs are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors. Support these efforts by making a donation.

Purdue University has been a loyal education partner and member of the fluid power community for some time. In recognition of Purdue’s efforts to promote fluid power education, it was named NFPA’s first Power Partner University in 2020.

To qualify, Purdue had to meet all the criteria for the Power Partner program, including:

Recently, Purdue’s Fluid Power Club shared that they have been hard at work fitting a hydrostatic transmission on to a go kart as part of their main activity this year. In addition to that, the club has also worked with NFPA to invite an industry speaker to virtually present to students in their hydraulic motion control system class.

The goal of the Fluid Power Club program is to get younger students introduced to and interested in fluid power, support club activities, and connect students to industry professionals to learn about careers in fluid power. Twelve other universities have established Fluid Power Clubs at their schools. Contact Stephanie at sscaccianoce@nfpa.com to learn more about how to get connected.
