On January 27th the NFPA, Triton College, and the Illinois Pathway to Adventure Council (Portage Creek District, IL) introduced fluid power to 33 BSA Scouts through a hands-on robotics merit badge activity. Scouts assembled a Hydraulic Robotic Arm Kit and learned key fluid power basics. The event offered a foundational understanding of robotics and demonstrated the role fluid power plays. In the end, participants earned a Robotics Merit Badge and gained a greater appreciation for fluid power.
