On September 15, NFPA will be hosting a Wisconsin Workforce Engagement Group meeting and Fluid Power Club Speed Networking event at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
For the Speed Networking portion, NFPA members will meet with MSOE engineering students in a roundtable style event. As students move from table to table, each company will have time to speak about their company, innovative projects they are working on, and any job shadowing, internship, and work opportunities available. Come prepared with information on open positions at your company to discuss further with students. To wrap up the interactive session, we welcome NFPA members and MSOE engineering students to join us for lunch.
For the meeting portion of this session, NFPA members can expect similar content provided during NFPA’s Workforce Engagement Group Meetings of updates and opportunities to engage in student outreach and recruitment activities associated with NFPA programs. However, this meeting will focus heavily on MSOE’s Bachelor of Science in Technical and Business Management program, formally advertised as Bachelors in Technical Sales, of which NFPA was a founding partner in developing. Although the name of this degree has changed, there have been no changes to the curriculum content. Despite strong interest from the business sector, enrollment is low as students are unaware of the value proposition and career potential associated with this degree.
There is a strong potential for internships, increased company visibility, and partnerships with MSOE to enhance the program and encourage stronger enrollment and we want to invite NFPA members to have early opportunities to participate.
