Oxford Economics: New Fluid Power Forecast and IEOC Speaker Preview

NFPA’s member hub has been updated with Oxford Economics’ Summer Global Fluid Power Report and Forecast. This report contains by-country customer market and fluid power forecasts. See the latest macro summaries and analysis of over 20 different countries with this update. Highlights from the latest report include:

  • U.S. hydraulic demand growth is expected to end 2022 up 3.9% over 2021.
  • Russian pneumatic demand growth forecast continues to decrease with a new 2022 expectation of -19.9% over 2021.
  • China motor vehicle and parts output is forecasted to end 2022 down 9.7% but rebound in 2023 with an increase of 12.4%.

Oxford Economics will be presenting in two different slots at NFPA’s upcoming Industry and Economic Outlook Conference. Alexandra Hermann will be presenting the Overview of Key Customer Markets which will cover the automotive, aerospace, oil & gas/energy, semiconductor, and mining markets. Alexandra will also be presenting the Construction Machinery Forecast during the afternoon breakout sessions.

Alexandra is a Senior Economist on the Industry team where she is responsible for sectoral forecasts for the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry and helps develop the team’s view on the global industrial outlook. She also supports bespoke industry consulting projects across a range of sectors such as chemicals, machinery, and energy.

Prior to joining Oxford Economics, Alexandra worked as an economic consultant for Cornerstone Research for almost three years. At Cornerstone Research, she was involved in conducting qualitative research and quantitative analyses to support expert testimony in high-stakes litigation cases across a variety of sectors including energy, pharmaceuticals, and financial markets. Alexandra holds an MPhil in Economics from Oxford University and a BSc in Economics from the University of Mannheim. Alexandra is fluent in English and German.
