Fast Track Hubs Coming to Michigan & Iowa

Programs like the Fast Track to Fluid Power are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors.

As we continue to scale our workforce development programs to reach more students in more communities, we are pleased to announce Michigan and Iowa as the next states on deck to participate in NFPA’s Fast Track to Fluid Power Program. Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan is set to become our third Fast Track hub in spring 2022, and we are in the process of working out details for a fourth hub at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa.

Much like the already up-and-running Fast Track hubs at Waukesha County Technical College in Waukesha, Wisconsin and Triton College in River Grove, Illinois, Macomb and Hawkeye offer strong fluid power programs in their own right. Through the Fast Track Program, they will enhance their fluid power curriculum offerings with input from local fluid power industry members (like you) so that graduating students from these schools will have strong, job-ready skills in fluid power.

In addition to enhancing tech school curriculum, stronger connections between industry and educators will also be facilitated through the program. Industry members will have opportunities to network directly with fluid power students who will soon be entering the job market, become mentors, and more. Tech schools will also develop stronger connections with area middle and high schools to excite and educate students about fluid power careers before they start making career decisions.

Please note that while your company may be headquartered elsewhere, consider if you have facilities in Michigan and Iowa that could directly benefit from engagement in this program. If your company is interested in getting involved, please contact Amy Zignego at azignego@nfpa.com.
