NFPA Power Partner University, MSOE, Unveils STEM Center

The University Power Partner Program is made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors. Support these efforts by making a donation.

In addition to the student education and research done at the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s (MSOE) Fluid Power Institute, the university recently unveiled their new We Energies STEM Center, a first-in-class STEM destination for K-12 students. The 10,000-square-foot STEM Center features a flexible technology studio, design and development lab, machine tooling area and a FIRST Robotics playing field for teams to practice on a regulation field before they compete. The new center reflects MSOE’s commitment to expanding student access to STEM resources and encouraging growth in STEM fields such as fluid power.

MSOE’s history of engaging with K-12 students to build the engineering talent pipeline is part of why we are proud to partner with MSOE as a Power Partner University. To be a Power Partner University, a school must meet the following criteria:

NFPA works with our university partners to coordinate and support Power Partner activities. Their robust fluid power programming means their students are excellent candidates for careers in many member companies.
