By Eric Lanke, NFPA President/CEO
Earlier in October, the NFPA Board of Directors met over a series of virtual meetings to review progress on NFPA’s strategic objectives so far this fiscal year, which runs July 2021-June 2022. The group’s discussion highlighted progress on programs across the organization as well as opportunities for further improvement or additional board support.
In addition to the full group discussion on October 13, each of the Board’s strategic task forces met separately the week prior for discussions surrounding specific programs and objectives related to effective forum, industry statistics, promote fluid power and educated workforce. These four task forces help address critical issues facing our industry and association, bring additional voices from outside the Board into those discussions and ensure NFPA’s programs continue to provide as much value as possible to members.
This year’s overall objectives in these areas include ensuring balanced growth in NFPA’s membership and event attendance, delivering valuable and actionable industry and business insights, making fluid power more visible to key customer markets and expanding NFPA’s workforce development program reach.
Many thanks to this year’s Board and task force participants for their support and insights. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for specific outcomes to these meetings as they apply to you as an NFPA member.
