I used to love field trips when I was in middle and high school. Getting out of school, seeing something different and getting to goof off with my friends on the bus on the way there was all a part of the magic.
Forty students from Kettle Moraine High School got to do just that, and so much more, when they visited Price Engineering in Hartland, Wisconsin for the NFPA Student Career Connections program. Engineers at Price talked to the students about the great careers in fluid power, the exciting work Price does, and how students could get into the industry. The students got a tour of Price and could ask questions and talk to the engineers and manufacturers at Price. The event ended with the students and engineers working together to build fluid power classroom kits, having lunch, and sharing cool videos they have seen of fluid power or projects they have worked on themselves.
Field trips are awesome and they always will be, and events like the one at Price Engineering keep the excitement around fluid power and engineering going. Plus, the Student Career Connections events typically only last three hours and are very flexible, inexpensive and easy to do.
