Each week we publish a short company profile of an NFPA member as a way for us to highlight the diversity and strength of our industry. Today’s company is ArcelorMittal.
ArcelorMittal
, is a name recognized to many as the world’s leading steel and mining company with 222,000 employees across 60 countries, but to NFPA, ArcelorMittal is a product supplier member who for almost 20 years (joining in 1996) has supported the association and its programs. Representatives from the company regularly attend NFPA’s Annual Conference & NFPA’s Industry and Economic Outlook Conference as well as Regional Meetings. ArcelorMittal also participates in NFPA Market Information Services through the Confidential Shipment Statistics Report and State of the Fluid Power Report.
ArcelorMittal serves the fluid power industry as a manufacturer of DOM (drawn over mandrel) and seamless tubing in sizes ranging from .750″ OD to 12″ OD for use as cylinder barrels and piston rods. Dofasco Tubular Products also manufactures welded mechanical, stainless, and structural steel tubing at ten plants throughout North America. In fact, in 1890, Shelby, Ohio, became the birthplace of the seamless tube industry in America and is the home of ArcelorMittal Shelby today.
