Oilgear-Ferris Foundation Invests $935K Endowment Fund at MSOE

In July, Oilgear-Ferris Foundation representatives presented the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a check to start an endowment fund. According to a press release, the $935,000 gift will support mechanical engineering student projects, programs, organizations, and scholarships. The endowed fund will allow MSOE to continue to fund the mechanical engineering department, which has doubled in size in within the last 20 years.

This comes as the Oilgear-Ferris Foundation, which has financially supported MSOE for decades, winds down. The amount donated is the balance of the foundation. This new Oilgear-Ferris Foundation Endowed Fund will likely help grow the industry’s future workforce while encouraging further research and development at the school.

“Oilgear was created by three engineers from a development project,” said David Zuege, former President & CEO of Oilgear. “We are very pleased that this endowment could support such projects and scholarships for mechanical engineering students.”

Oilgear has been invested in Milwaukee for decades, as the company began there in 1921. The donation comes to MSOE as a preservation of the company’s legacy and lasting commitment to it’s founding city.
