NFPA Visits IMTS 2016

Early last week, my colleagues Pete Alles and Leslie Miller and I walked the show floor at IMTS 2016 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The biennial event is one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world with thousands of exhibitors and more than 100,000 attendees. The show took place September 12-17, and we were there the first few days to visit our member companies’ booths both within and outside of the IFPE Fluid Power Zone within the trade show.  We were there mostly to hand out our newly designed member plaques and to be sure everyone was having a good show experience. It was also a great opportunity to see some of our members’ products and hear more of their take on the state of the industry and the value they get from trade shows. We even got the chance to say hi to Jay Rogers of Local Motors who will be speaking at the 2017 NFPA Annual Conference in February.

Pete Alles was also able to attend the first ever Fluid Power Education Track in the Integrated Industries Conference on September 14. The education track allowed members to share their expertise in energy-efficient fluid power and state-of-the-art technology.

Many thanks to those who presented in the education track and exhibited in the IFPE Fluid Power Zone.
