NFPA Releases Latest FPASM Results

The results of the 2015 Annual Survey of Fluid Power Manufacturers (FPASM) are now available to NFPA members. The data includes market and product level shipment dollar data for the U.S. fluid power industry and is an indispensable tool for determining market size, share, and segmentation. The report has been developed using the fluid power products data found in the Annual Survey of Manufacturers (ASM), which is funded and published by the U.S. Census Bureau.  NFPA staff has provided additional analysis, data, and graphs based on the ASM data.

Data and its related analysis directly reflects the Annual Survey of Manufacturers as collected by the U.S. Census Bureau. NFPA does not manipulate or estimate any of the raw data contained within the report and therefore is not responsible for errors or omissions in the report.

Important Tip: The Census Bureau’s ASM data used in the creation of the FPASM tends to appear outdated, as the current data available is from 2015. It is important to remember that the ASM results are the most representative data source of U.S. manufacturing and should be viewed as a baseline. You can combine current trend data for our industry with this highly representative baseline to develop a very accurate estimation of more current industry data.  Combining NFPA’s Confidential Shipment Statistics (CSS) trend data with NFPA’s Annual Survey of Fluid Power Manufacturers (FPASM) data is always a recommended practice.
