In Memoriam
HydraForce co-founder and board member, Dick Fontecchio, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014, at JourneyCare in Woodstock, IL. He was 66 and was preceded in death by his son, Mark, and is survived by his wife, Carol, and daughter, Andrea. In remembering Fontecchio, Jim Brizzolara, Co-Founder, President and CEO of HydraForce, said, “Dick was incredibly influential in the development of cartridge valve technology. During his tenure as our Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he presided over the release of some 15,000 proprietary and standard valves and electro-hydraulic controls.” Read full press release. | Link to Chicago Tribune obituary.
Jerry L. Cage, Program Chair of Advanced Automation and Robotics at Ivy Tech Community College South Bend, IN passed away, June 8, 2014 at the age of 65, following a brief illness. His engineering career included time at Allied Signal and Easy Heat. Along with receiving five U.S. Patents, he published a number of papers and contributed a chapter to a book on anti-lock braking systems. Link to South Bend Tribune obituary.
Carlisle Brake & Friction announced the appointment of industry veteran, Tom Otter as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Otter immediately assumes responsibility for leading Carlisle’s Original Equipment and Aftermarket sales teams in North and South America, Carlisle’s North American customer service team, as well as the global marketing, product, and program management organization. Otter joins Carlisle following a successful career as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems.
Hydradyne announced that Ken Carroll has been elevated to the position of Vice President of LOR, Inc., Hydradyne’s parent company, and David Parks has been elevated to the position of President of Hydradyne.
