NFPA Company Profiles for NFPA News
With NFPA membership at an all-time high, publishing a short profile of an NFPA member each week is one way for us to highlight the diversity and strength of our industry. Today’s company is Lubrizol.
Lubrizol, a global, fluid technology company concentrating on high-performance chemicals, systems and services for industry and transportation joined NFPA exactly 20 years ago this May. However, since Lubrizol, headquartered in Wickliffe, OH, was founded in 1928 and owns and operates manufacturing facilities in 17 countries, as well as sales and technical offices around the world, 1995 is almost recent history. Lubrizol’s products are found in the hydraulic fluids, circulating, turbine, engine, transmission, and gear oils, metalworking fluids and greases used in the fluid power industry.
Since joining NFPA, Lubrizol has been a strong and engaged supporter of Standards development and in recent years, very involved with the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power pre-competitive research initiatives. In fact, Lubrizol is a Silver Lever Member of the Pascal Society—the annual giving society of the NFPA Education and Technology Foundation.
