NFPA Member Company Profile: Hollingsworth & Vose Company

Each week we publish a short company profile of an NFPA member as a way for us to highlight the diversity and strength of our industry. Today’s company is Hollingsworth & Vose Company.

Hollingsworth & Vose Company, headquartered in East Walpole, MA, is an international manufacturer of high performance filter media whose technology includes melt blown media, wet laid nonwovens, dry laid nonwovens, and laminated composites, with eleven manufacturing locations throughout the world. As a supplier of filtration media to the hydraulics industry, their products are found in end-use markets including aerospace, heavy equipment, and a variety of industrial applications.  Hollingsworth & Vose has been an NFPA member since 1999 and regularly participates in the NFPA Confidential Shipment Statistics program as well as attending the NFPA Industry and Economic Outlook Conference held each August in the Chicago area.  Plus, Hollingsworth & Vose can boast of an interesting history in that the company’s beginnings include being granted a 10-year patent to manufacture paper in the Province of Massachusetts Bay in 1728, purchasing the Revere copper works from the Paul Revere family in 1840, making paper from used sails and even rope in the 1800’s, to the highly technical enterprise of today.
