NFPA Company Profiles for NFPA News
With NFPA membership at an all-time high, publishing a short profile of an NFPA member each week is one way for us to highlight the diversity and strength of our industry. Today’s company is Heco Gear.
An NFPA member since 2001, Heco Gear is headquartered in West Sacramento, CA. Heco Gear has been manufacturing planetary speed reducers for worldwide markets since 1974. The company serves a broad spectrum of industries including primary metals, food processing, petroleum, agriculture, aerospace, marine, fishing, material handling and mobile equipment. The company’s first products were single reduction speed reducers for use with low speed – high torque hydraulic motors. As the company has grown they have continued to build on this expertise as well as expanding to other types of input such as electric motors and diesel engines. Mike Jacobs, President and Allen Rasmussen, Vice President, regularly attend the NFPA Annual Conference and NFPA’s Industry and Economic Outlook Conference. The company is also a long-time participant in NFPA’s State of the Fluid Power Survey, Confidential Shipment Statistics Report and Customer Market Survey.
