NFPA Company Profiles for NFPA News
Each week we publish a short profile of an NFPA member as one way for us to highlight the diversity and strength of our industry. Today’s company is Carlisle Brake & Friction.
Joining NFPA in 2013, Carlisle Brake & Friction is a leading solutions provider for high performance and severe duty brake, clutch and transmission applications. Customer markets include OEM and aftermarket in mining, construction, military, agricultural, industrial and aerospace markets. Carlisle Brake & Friction’s engineering group develops integrated brake solutions that move from the foot pedal to the hydraulic actuator to the brake, including the friction material. The company offers brake designs that range from dry disc, caliper brakes to wet disc brakes to drum brakes. The most recent outgrowth of an ongoing R&D program is a complete line of wind turbine brakes for rotor and yaw applications. Representatives from Carlisle Brake & Friction regularly attend the NFPA Industry and Economic Outlook Conference every August.
