As part of an effort to build member value and provide improved market intelligence throughout the supply chain, the State of the Fluid Power Industry – Distributors Survey, was launched in June, with 21 distributor members responding. Our goal is to grow participation throughout the year.
This quick and easy monthly survey is sent via email and gives respondents the latest pulse of the distribution channel, with expectations for overall business, engineered systems, service/repairs, and inventories. Also, along with the distributor’s results, respondents also received access to results of a similar manufacturer’s survey every month.
The manufacturer State of the Fluid Power has been shown to correlate directly with actual industry performance. As we grow participation, we expect the distributor survey will serve as a similarly strong benchmark, so you can;
- Identify the distribution channel’s position in the business cycle
- Anticipate how the distribution channel will do in the months to come
- Track distribution channel backlog and hiring plans
- Benchmark the progress of your company
Look for next month’s survey in your inbox on August 6th and participate in the SOFP-Distributors!
If you have any questions or feel someone else in your company should complete this survey, please Eric Armstrong at earmstrong@nfpa.com or 414-778-3372.
