With NFPA membership at an all-time high, publishing a short profile of an NFPA member each week is one way for us to highlight the diversity and strength of our industry. Today’s company is J.H. Bennett & Company, Inc.

JH Bennett logo 250 pxFounded in 1958, J.H. Bennett & Company, Inc., began operations solely as a Fluid Power Specialty Distributor. Since then, the company has diversified into a complete industrial controls distributor, representing over 50 manufacturers of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment. They are  an employee owned company headquartered in Novi, MI with branch locations in Grand Rapids, MI, and Brecksville, OH. The company’s website features a library of technical papers on topics that include compressed air, pneumatic actuators and vacuum technology.  J.H. Bennett & Company joined NFPA in 2007 but President, Ray Blashill’s involvement in industry association leadership pre-dates 2007 and includes his work with NFPA/FPDA Joint Task Forces. The company has been a strong supporter of NFPA programs such as the Detroit Area Regional Meeting and the IEOC.
