NFPA Annual Conference to Feature Manufacturer-Distributor Presentation and Panel

Several times in recent years, NFPA’s Distributor Council has discussed the need for an overview of the differences in perspective manufacturers and distributors tend to have, how the differences stem from fundamental differences in their place in the supply chain and the way their businesses need to operate, and how this affects their business relationships.

The 2015 NFPA Annual Conference will address these issues, with a special segment led by Bob Segal of Frank Lynn & Associates, a channel marketing firm based in Chicago that has extensive experience with industrial distribution channels.

Segal will kick-off the segment with a presentation, and following a break, will lead a panel discussion during which panelists will offer their perspectives and elaborate on key points of Segal’s presentation, as well as thoughts on the future of the distribution channel and how these expectations might affect how manufacturers and distributors need to work together going forward. Distributors and manufacturers participating on the panel will include Jim Kaas of Iowa Fluid Power, Kevin Kampe of Womack Machine Supply, Mark Gilk of Eaton Corporation and Scott Meldeau of Bimba Manufacturing Company.
