Programs like the Power Partner University Program are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors. Support these efforts by making a donation.
On September 22, NFPA and the Milwaukee School of Engineering hosted a Meet the Students/Industry Connection Event. Students enrolled in MSOE’s Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering degree programs were invited to meet with ten NFPA member companies in a speed networking event. Industry representatives talked about their backgrounds, what their company does and the markets they serve, fluid power technology, and opportunities for internships and jobs. It was a great event for students and industry to make direct connections to each other.
Thank you to each company that participated:
- Badger Meter
- Deltrol Fluid Products
- FORCE America, Inc.
- Husco
- HydraForce
- IMI Norgren
- Iowa Fluid Power
- MICO, a ZF Group Company
- Schroeder Industries LLC
- SunSource
A special thank you to Dr. Luis Rodriguez and other members of MSOE’s faculty for helping make this event a great success.
MSOE has been a loyal education partner and member of the fluid power community for some time. In recognition of its efforts to promote fluid power education, it has been named NFPA’s second Power Partner University.
MSOE has met all the criteria for the Power Partner program, including:
- Host a Meet the Students/Industry Connection Event
- Participate in the Speaker’s Bureau program
- Participate in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge
- Has a Fluid Power Club
- Teaches the nine core fluid power competencies
NFPA will work with other University Partners to coordinate future Meet the Student/Industry Connection events. If you are interested in participating in future events, please reach out to Amy Zignego at azignego@nfpa.com.
