Launch of the New Fast Track to Fluid Power Hub in Houston, Texas
Tuesday, September 17, 2024 | 10:00 – 12:00PM CDT
Houston Community College
NFPA’s Fast Track to Fluid Power is a workforce development pathway that partners local technical colleges with fluid power industry members and high school teachers. These networks create awareness and interest in fluid power and train students along a path that leads to careers in fluid power at NFPA member companies.
We are thrilled to announce the opening of our fifth Fast Track to Fluid Power Hub at Houston Community College (HCC) in Houston, Texas. Led by Alberto Urbina, Dean of Material Science and Smart Manufacturing, this new Hub will play a critical role in developing a fluid power-educated workforce in Texas through hands-on events and activities.
To mark this significant milestone, we invite you to the inaugural Texas Workforce Engagement Group (WEG) meeting, an in-person special media event on Tuesday, September 17th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM CDT, at HCC. This event will include an official unveiling ceremony and a campus tour, offering you the opportunity to meet HCC faculty, explore their state-of-the-art labs, and learn more about the fluid power-related courses being developed in collaboration with industry members like you.
Register by 9/12 to let us know if you’ll be attending the in-person launch event. Please reach out to Haley Nemeth at hnemeth@nfpa.com with questions, to attend the upcoming Texas WEG meeting, and stay informed on all developments at our new Texas Hub. We look forward to seeing you at this important event and working together to build a strong, job-ready workforce in Texas.
