[attention]    …ISO/TC 131 standards up for systematic (five-year) review…    ↓[/attention]

A number of ISO/TC 131 standards are up for systematic (five-year) review, which affords the industry a chance to have another look at each standard and determine if it is still applicable and actually used in the marketplace.  The U.S. TAG ballots on all of these close 2014-05-05, so if you would like more information about any of these, please contact Denise Rockhill at drockhill@nfpa.com or Karen Boehme at kboehme@nfpa.com:

Contamination control
  • ISO 2941:2009 (verification of collapse/burst pressure rating of hydraulic filter elements), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 6 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
Control products
  • ISO 6264:1998 (mounting surfaces for hydraulic pressure-relief valves), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 5/WG 2 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
  • ISO 6301-1:2009 (main characteristics of compressed-air lubricators to be included in supplier’s literature and product-marking requirements), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 5/Pneumatic for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
Cylinders
  • ISO 6099:2009 (identification code for cylinder mounting dimensions and mounting types), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 3 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
  • ISO 8139:2009 (mounting dimensions of rod end spherical eyes for 1000 kPa pneumatic cylinders), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 3 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
  • ISO 8140:2009 (mounting dimensions of rod end clevis for 1000 kPa pneumatic cylinders), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 3 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
Sealing devices
  • ISO 6194-2:2009 (vocabulary for rotary shaft lip type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 7 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
  • ISO 6194-4:2009 (performance test procedures for rotary shaft lip type seals incorporating elastomeric sealing elements), circulated to the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 131/SC 7 for ballot to determine the USA vote on systematic review.
