NFPA Staff Attends Hydraulics Overview Course Led by MSOE

The entire NFPA staff recently attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Introduction to Hydraulics for Industry Professionals” led by Dr. Medhat Khalil, the Director of Professional Education & Research Development. The course was held at NFPA member GS Global Resource’s headquarters in Mukwonago, Wisconsin.

The one-day seminar introduced hydraulic systems from the basic concepts to the building and operation of these systems. The core part of the course covered the construction and the operation of the basic hydraulic components such as pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, rotary actuators and accumulators. The course also explored the basic techniques to build hydraulic systems that work safely and efficiently. NFPA staff put their knowledge to the test by building hydraulic circuits and analyzing data on hydraulic trainers.

This is a great course to take to gain a more in-depth understanding of fluid power systems by learning about basic hydraulics principles as well as getting hands-on experience with the trainers. We would like to thank Dr. Khalil and GS Global Resources for a successful day of learning.
