New IoT Committee Begins Resource Development

Internet of Things / IoT Committee

Members of NFPA’s new Internet of Things Committee recently began scoping out activities to help NFPA bring useful information about IoT and fluid power to members.

The committee agreed on two initial projects moving forward:

  • An email-based survey of members to benchmark the current state of IoT activity within the fluid power industry. Respondents will receive a copy of results, which will be aggregated so that individual respondents are not identifiable. The results will also help guide content of presentations at conferences and events, as well as via webinar.
  • An IoT Resource Portal for NFPA members. IoT Committee members are gathering materials…white papers, case examples, explanatory videos…relevant to fluid power that will be made available to members via the portal.

Committee members are also helping to recruit additional IoT service providers into NFPA membership as a way of bringing more knowledge and resources on IoT to the fluid power industry.

Members currently participating on the Committee include Scott Rosenzweig of Certified Power; Patrick Maher and Brad Dittmer of IMI Precision Engineering; Andrew Johnson of O-ring Sales & Service; and Jeremy Drury of IoT Diagnostics.  Also participating was Adam Livesay of Elevat.
