We’ve written before about the fluid power research projects coming out of the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power. Ten new research projects have recently been selected for funding. One such project is the Four-Quadrant Multi-Fluid Pump/Motor project, which was presented by John Lumkes of Purdue University at the 2016 Fluid Power Research and Innovation Conference.
See the presentation slides from the conference below:
Project summary: This project will focus on the design and simulation of digital pumps and motors for multi-fluid operation as well as evaluation of their feasibility. It will build upon existing technology and research by creating a novel mechanical control for digital pumps and motors in pursuit of making this technology approach more feasible.
Watch for project updates as the project progresses.
