Dura-Bar Hosts First Fluid Power Action Challenge

Dura-Bar launched its first Fluid Power Action Challenge at McHenry County College this year and joined the community of Action Challenge Champions. With support from Alro Steel, three schools and 17 teams competed in the Challenge, coming in at a total of 66 students participating.

The students attended Workshop Day on October 18th, 2019 to learn about fluid power and the Challenge objective. Each team received a workshop kit of materials matching the ones they would receive on Challenge Day. They then had four weeks to build a prototype and create a design portfolio. When students returned on December 6th for Challenge Day, they were given a new challenge kit and a limited amount of time to rebuild their design using only their own portfolios before they competed in a timed competition. Teams were judged on project design, function, teamwork and more.

Montini Team D was the overall champion of the Challenge. Congratulations to Montini Team D for their victory and all of the other teams for their great work!

Thank you to the Dura-Bar, Alro Steel and McHenry County College for putting on a successful event.
