In 2014, the manufacture of fluid power components was a $22 billion business in the United States. It was the fifth straight year of industry growth, increasing 77% since the 2009 recession, and 32% higher than its pre-recession high in 2008.
The manufacture of hydraulic products was a $16.7 billion business in 2014, 76% of the fluid power total. The manufacture of pneumatic products was a $5.3 billion business in 2014, 24% of the fluid power total.
