Member Visit Reinforces Value of Face-to-Face Meetings

Concentric AB LogoFollowing the recent Chicago Regional Meeting, Eric Armstrong and I made the short drive to Rockford, IL, to visit Concentric Rockford.  Concentric AB is the former Hydraulics Division of Haldex AB and manufactures conventional and variable flow oil and coolant pumps as well as fuel pumps for the medium and heavy-duty diesel engines. In addition, Concentric hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, power packs and flow dividers can be found on construction equipment, agricultural equipment, lift trucks, aerial work platforms, trucks, buses and transmissions.

Concentric has been an active and engaged NFPA member for 38 years.  However, this visit was the first for Eric and me and long overdue.  There is no substitute for sitting across a conference table and hearing directly how our member companies use benefits like NFPA’s Market Information Services on a day-to-day basis.  Or, when discussing workforce programs, hearing how Concentric is proactively working with local universities and technical colleges to promote fluid power as a great career while also supporting promising students with tuition assistance and employment. Conversations like these are invaluable. Because of this, all NFPA staff will be scheduling more member company visits throughout 2016. We thank Concentric for their hospitality and hope to see you soon!
